A disappointing day in sports. First Germany loses then Nadal to a rather low-ranked player. At least the other players I watch are still in the tournament.

Congratulations on making it to the third round Echizen. Your match was quicker than I expected. I suppose you are saving your energy for the later rounds. Good luck during your next match.

I've been eyeing auctions lately, but there hasn't been anything of the quality I desire. It's probably a good thing considering I have more than enough to work on, but I can't help but add to my collection.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag, Echizen. I sent your present to your parent's house. I hope it gets to you no later than tomorrow.

Germany is fine. I first visited my mother's side of the family before driving back down to Munich. We went to Christkindlmarkt last night. I think it would have been better if it had snowed, but it isn't in the forecast until later this week.

I hope every one has a good holiday.

Belated congratulations on your victory, Echizen. I didn't watch the finals, but I was able to catch your quarterfinal match. You played well.

I confirmed my trip to Munich with my parents. Though, I'll be flying into meet them and spend a few days with my mother's side of the family in Hannover. Particularly to go to the Weihnachtsmarkt. I haven't been to it in years. I suppose that's because I've always enjoyed Munich more. This year I plan on going to the Christkindlmarkt at Marienplatz.

My parents have insisted I try to relax and not work as many days while in Munich. I do want to visit the offices there at least once. I can work from my study at the estate, I suppose. The library there is much more familiar.

Atobe, are you going to Germany for Christmas or are you and your parents staying in Tokyo?

We arrived back from Argentina last Sunday. I'm afraid there wasn't much of a readjustment period before I went back to the office. Sleeping on the plane helped with that tremendously.

It was a wonderful trip. I shall have to go back in the future. There were many sections I did not get to due to being enthralled by others. Tremendous gratitude, Seiichi.

Echizen. I hope you will at least peruse "The History of Chocolate." It is in Portuguese and was quite the read. May I assume that the candy has already been properly disposed of in a manner that is probably quite undignified?

Yanagi. Arthur. Thank you so much for getting my costume together to have Atobe bring. I don't remember much about Halloween, but from what I hear it was fun. Halloween was a success.

I officially took over my grandfather's firm over the weekend. It went smoothly due to the months upon months of preparation. I have no doubts of my abilities to maintain current levels of productivity until I have graduated. Though, I would like to increase it by 5% over the next two years. I've put my father in charge of European and both American operations while I take on the rest since it is a smaller market and will be easier to manage while I focus on my studies. Of course, nothing will be released without my approval.

I am contemplating working on "The Picture of Dorian Gray" next. Though, I don't know what language to use. The manuscript that has been sent to me is from 1944, though I'm still looking for both the 1890 magazine publication and the 1891 bound format. I suppose I shall see what the next batch of materials brings me.

Christkindl Markt was nice, although the lack of snow rather caused the atmosphere to be lacking. The weather in Munich has been shifting between rain and somewhat cloudy. I was hoping for snow when we make the trek to Neuschwanstein, but I see the snow is only supposed to hit after we have left for Paris. Even there, the schedule is for rain. I suppose I should be thankful we had plenty of it in Japan before we left for break.

Thank you, everyone, for the gifts. Sengoku, yours amused me greatly. Saeki, Oshitari. I almost think you believe I am unstylish. Regardless, they came in handy for an impromptu board meeting I had. Ryoma, Atobe, Oishi, Kabaji. Your gifts will be very helpful in the future. Sanada, I suppose this means I'll turn your gift against you at practices in the spring. I look forward to it. Ohtori, the music was a good choice. Yanagi...I'm not even going to ask.

The flight thus far have been problem free. We are taking the train to Paris. I think Karupin has had enough of flying for awhile, but there's only one more for when we return on the 2nd. There simply wasn't enough time to head to Vienna and Copenhagen over break. Not with family obligations. Speaking of which, they went a lot better than I expected.

Hope the holidays are pleasant for you all.

The play was quite good. Everyone did a fantastic job. Though, I would have preferred to see less of Mukahi's backside. Saeki. Oshitari. It was a great idea and was put together well. Nice work.

Received a rather large package from Father on Saturday afternoon. Ten manuscripts of varying quality. I spent Sunday going through them. Six are of a translatable quality. I've begun work on one, translating it into English, French, and Japanese. Two are decent. Of the remaining two, I find that one is beyond what I can do at this time with finals approaching. I might be able to work on it over winter holidays. The last one I've sent to Tokyo for repairs. The binding was in a state of disrepair. I wouldn't have felt comfortable working on it. I'll check on it when I go to Tokyo next. Speaking of which, I think I'll need to make a trip the first weekend of December.

When I called Sunday evening, my plans for the upcoming break were discussed. I have been asked to be in Munich for Christmas. Mother desperately wants to go to the Christkindl Markt and I don't have it in me to deny her request. Munich is quite breathtaking after a snowfall. I'm hoping to make a short visit to Bavaria, but we'll see what the weather holds when I arrive.

I spoke with my father the other evening. Mother wants to attend "Carmen" in Copenhagen and fortunately unfortunately, the only weekend they could get tickets for fell on family visitation. Father was almost adamant about flying out. I think he mentioned something regarding 'not wanting to see "Carmen" for the 5th time', but I told him in no uncertain terms that mother would not be pleased if he flew out here without her and did not accompany her to the opera. He relented finally and I charged him with the task of perusing a select list of bookshops in Copenhagen for materials. I emailed him the list while we were on the phone. While he prattled away about the Munich offices and whether or not I would consent to procuring a bigger space, I finished up the quarterly financial reports and a couple of papers for class.

I had my first video conference call this afternoon. I suppose I should get used to these things since they will become more frequent, but it still slightly disconcerting to talk to my father at 8am his time. He still needs to learn how to manage his hair. Nothing new has changed, though I was requested to give them the status of the remodeling in Tokyo. I'll need to make another trip there soon. Possibly the weekend after Halloween.

I was able to finish the translation for Oedipus Rex for Oshitari Yuushi. I thought I would have had time to get it to him before he left for Hawaii. I suppose it can wait until he gets back.

I have been practicing judo and kendo a bit more frequently than I have in the past. As such, I have been not been playing tennis. It's not as though I don't want to; I just feel like I wouldn't play my best and to me, that is worse than not playing at all.

I've looked over all the manuscripts. Unfortunately, I can only work with one of them. The other two are more worn than I am comfortable with and the writing is terribly blurry. I suppose that is from a combination of wear and age, but that can only account for so much of it. I'll be returning them personally back to the offices in Tokyo. Shipping them back in this state is unwise.

Fuji. Thank you for coming over the other night and having dinner with me.

Yanagi. I have left an order form on my desk. I won't have time today to get it sent in. Would you mind doing it for me? I am not worried about shipping, so there is no need to rush it.

I was successful in winning both of my matches this morning. Both hard fought of course. Ryoga is quite the challenge, but I have had more difficulty playing the likes of Atobe, Sanada, and Echizen.

Yukimura, whenever you have a free moment, I would like to play a match with you.

I've returned. Kyushu at this time of year is beautiful, but my trip there was hardly enjoyable.

I apologize for the commotion I caused Tuesday in preparation for my trip. I was rather loud, which is unlike me, and I hate to say that my attitude wasn't the greatest.

Atobe. Echizen. Thank you.

There's been a family emergency. I'll be leaving campus shortly. I hope to return by Monday, but I can't be exactly sure.

Yanagi, you are free to do as you wish over the weekend.

The hearing turned out with the conclusion I expected. I honestly hope that this will prevent any further ill-relations between students and butlers or amongst the butlers. I commend the Disciplinary Committee for coming to a fair conclusion.

Echizen, you're improving greatly in German. Screened to Echizen )

Atobe. Judo match. Friday afternoon. 4pm. If you're up to it.

(ooc: Regarding the song, he's trying to work on his English... And I think Tezuka would be the type to listen to things like Coldplay, Travis, Aqualung, etc. Because he is a contemplative individual. Oh, and they will most likely always have an underlying meaning. Because Tezuka is mysterious like that. << *is shot* )

I believe it would be in the interest of fairness if I stepped down from the Disciplinary Committee for this particular hearing. Considering I was somewhat involved, I do not wish for Hiyoshi and his butler to not receive an unbiased panel. Alas, I am quite biased in this particular interest. After the issue is resolved, I will resume my position on the Committee.

Atobe. Tennis. Wednesday morning at 7?

Also, the racket outside of Sole last night. I peered outside, but it was rather difficult to see. I did pick up a German song. Though, I am slightly surprised I did based on the way the words were strung together. I heard some French too... but the words I heard were just ridiculous.

seriousaura: (Daydreaming)
I honestly do not understand some of the student's infatuation desire interest in me. Would someone care to explain?

Atobe, our match this morning was excellent. Should we make it a weekly match? I haven't been challenged like that in quite some time. Also, I need to talk to you as soon as possible.

Echizen. 5:30pm.

I finally finished the German translation of Sun Tzu's "The Art of War". Atobe has a copy and my translation has been sent along to my grandfather for binding. I'm quite proud of it.

I had planned to begin work on translating the Iliad into German, but I am going to put that aside for the volume I had Yukimura look over. It is indeed in Greek, so I am rather pleased to delve into the intricacies of the language. Yukimura, I would appreciate any help you would be willing to give.

Other than translation work, my grandfather has updated me on the situation with my butler. I cannot say much more than that however.
