Feb. 22nd, 2012 04:56 pmNorway was pleasant despite the lack of sun. There was a slight dialect, but it wasn't hard to communicate or pick up on. Even though there wasn't much natural light, the glacier was still beautiful. It made me miss mountain climbing. I'm going to look into tackling Sakurajima for sometime this spring. Thank you for picking it Atobe.

Feb. 1st, 2012 10:47 amAlthough I've been home for a few weeks, work has kept me quite busy. The holidays were wonderful. I didn't get as much translated or read as I would have liked, but I did get to spend some time in Hanover with my mother's side of the family. Munich was nice. I rather wish it would have snowed. It would have made the Christkindlmarkt much more gorgeous. Belatedly, I hope everyone had a good holiday.
I also have spent quite a bit of time in the building that Arthur and Yanagi found and repurposed into a library. I've been cataloging items, shifting, shelving. It is quite relaxing and makes for a good break in between chapters. Though the building isn't as big as El Ateneo in Buenos Aires, I still find myself getting lost in the stacks.

Dec. 1st, 2011 08:37 pmBelated congratulations on your victory, Echizen. I didn't watch the finals, but I was able to catch your quarterfinal match. You played well.
I confirmed my trip to Munich with my parents. Though, I'll be flying into meet them and spend a few days with my mother's side of the family in Hannover. Particularly to go to the Weihnachtsmarkt. I haven't been to it in years. I suppose that's because I've always enjoyed Munich more. This year I plan on going to the Christkindlmarkt at Marienplatz.
My parents have insisted I try to relax and not work as many days while in Munich. I do want to visit the offices there at least once. I can work from my study at the estate, I suppose. The library there is much more familiar.
Atobe, are you going to Germany for Christmas or are you and your parents staying in Tokyo?

Oct. 30th, 2011 12:35 pmAtobe. Yanagi has something I need. If you could pick it up and bring it on your flight here, I would be very appreciative. I promise that it will not prevent you leaving Japan or entering Argentina.

Jul. 29th, 2011 09:20 amI have finally finished both the end of year fiscal reports and a book that had nothing to do with work. Granted, it was something I had translated a few years previous, but I wasn't reading for enjoyment then. I chose The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Next in its original language, mainly to test myself. A good story, I think I might attempt the rest of the trilogy if time allows.
Father emailed me a status report on the offices in Munich. Things are running smoothly without my overseeing day-to-day operations. Though, I should make a trip back soonif only to appease mother from worrying incessantly about how much food I'm eating.
Atobe. I've received word that you are coming back from your retreat. Dinner, perhaps, when you have settled back in?
Seiichi. Would you be available for tennis some time next week?

Mar. 31st, 2011 08:14 pmThe weather has been quite warm here lately. I am thinking about making the drive north up to Cologne for the art fair starting in a couple of weeks. I might spend the week there depending on my course load for the remainder of the semester.
Mother is already planning ahead for Easter. Yanagi, if you see anything pastel in any of the rooms I frequent, please remove it. Given the amount of time away from Germany once graduation occurs, I've promised to attend one of the performances during ballet week.

Mar. 1st, 2010 11:06 pmYanagi, if you would, please put in the necessary paperwork so that I may travel abroad for spring break. After dinner with Yukimura this evening, I find that going home might be in my best interest. Fortunately, it also coincides with my mother's yearly visit to her family's ancestral home in Hannover. I will have the estate to myself. Silence is bliss.
Atobe. Yukimura. If neither of you have plans, would one, or both, of you like to accompany me?
--
I received quite the package of correspondence today. Needless to say, I think I'll be having quite a few video conferences with some relatively well known video game companies about possibly hiring my firm for overseas translations. I admit I am quite curious about this considering I have not exactly advertised outside of academic institutions. I'll send an email to my father and see if he had a hand in this, even though it is I who has control of the Asian markets.
--
Fuji, I acquired something I think you might appreciate. If you have the time, may I come deliver it?
Kikumaru. Fuji. Congratulations on your wedding.

Dec. 26th, 2009 02:28 pmChristkindl Markt was nice, although the lack of snow rather caused the atmosphere to be lacking. The weather in Munich has been shifting between rain and somewhat cloudy. I was hoping for snow when we make the trek to Neuschwanstein, but I see the snow is only supposed to hit after we have left for Paris. Even there, the schedule is for rain. I suppose I should be thankful we had plenty of it in Japan before we left for break.
Thank you, everyone, for the gifts. Sengoku, yours amused me greatly. Saeki, Oshitari. I almost think you believe I am unstylish. Regardless, they came in handy for an impromptu board meeting I had. Ryoma, Atobe, Oishi, Kabaji. Your gifts will be very helpful in the future. Sanada, I suppose this means I'll turn your gift against you at practices in the spring. I look forward to it. Ohtori, the music was a good choice. Yanagi...I'm not even going to ask.
The flight thus far have been problem free. We are taking the train to Paris. I think Karupin has had enough of flying for awhile, but there's only one more for when we return on the 2nd. There simply wasn't enough time to head to Vienna and Copenhagen over break. Not with family obligations. Speaking of which, they went a lot better than I expected.
Hope the holidays are pleasant for you all.

Nov. 12th, 2009 12:06 pmI spoke with my father the other evening. Mother wants to attend "Carmen" in Copenhagen and fortunately unfortunately, the only weekend they could get tickets for fell on family visitation. Father was almost adamant about flying out. I think he mentioned something regarding 'not wanting to see "Carmen" for the 5th time', but I told him in no uncertain terms that mother would not be pleased if he flew out here without her and did not accompany her to the opera. He relented finally and I charged him with the task of perusing a select list of bookshops in Copenhagen for materials. I emailed him the list while we were on the phone. While he prattled away about the Munich offices and whether or not I would consent to procuring a bigger space, I finished up the quarterly financial reports and a couple of papers for class.

Oct. 28th, 2009 11:31 pmI had my first video conference call this afternoon. I suppose I should get used to these things since they will become more frequent, but it still slightly disconcerting to talk to my father at 8am his time. He still needs to learn how to manage his hair. Nothing new has changed, though I was requested to give them the status of the remodeling in Tokyo. I'll need to make another trip there soon. Possibly the weekend after Halloween.

Oct. 2nd, 2009 09:20 amHappy belated birthday, Saeki. My apologies for being a day late.
Classes have been going at a steady pace. I find myself doing more outside reading than usual, but that comes from my being bored during lessons. It feels like we've been over these same things for weeks now. It could be seen as review for exams, but I honestly don't see the point in spending so much time on the old stuff. Surely I'm not the only one who is feeling this way.

I was successful in winning both of my matches this morning. Both hard fought of course. Ryoga is quite the challenge, but I have had more difficulty playing the likes of Atobe, Sanada, and Echizen.
Yukimura, whenever you have a free moment, I would like to play a match with you.

Sep. 12th, 2009 05:54 pmConsidering I have had a week to come to terms with it, I suppose I can inform everyone of my less-than-pleasant attitude as of late. Also, it will stop Ohtori from worrying incessantly about me.
My grandfather passed away while I was in Kyushu, thus the reason for my hasty departure that week. This will not prevent me from continuing my studies at Lioncrest. I have been prepared for this for some time and can confidently say that running the firm and maintaining my current academic levels will not be an issue.
