I have finally finished both the end of year fiscal reports and a book that had nothing to do with work. Granted, it was something I had translated a few years previous, but I wasn't reading for enjoyment then. I chose The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Next in its original language, mainly to test myself. A good story, I think I might attempt the rest of the trilogy if time allows.

Father emailed me a status report on the offices in Munich. Things are running smoothly without my overseeing day-to-day operations. Though, I should make a trip back soon ~~if only to appease mother from worrying incessantly about how much food I'm eating~~.

Atobe. I've received word that you are coming back from your retreat. Dinner, perhaps, when you have settled back in?

Seiichi. Would you be available for tennis some time next week?

Normally, such an attempt results in a discussion of books which isn't remotely what I had in mind. I thought the visual would enforce the point, na?

I haven't read any thing lately that involve that. Mainly mystery novels.

Yet for some reason, we appear to have reverted to discussing novels. Perhaps I will animate my icons.

It does seem to be a one sided discussion though. I don't think that would change much.

Mystery novels rarely engage me. I find the outcomes too predictable. I prefer court dramas.

I have a few John Grisham's in German. I find him to be intriguing. The Rainmaker is quite good.

His novels work entirely to formula. 'The Client' was the only moderately original one of the set. I confess I have not tried 'The Rainmaker'. I stopped after 'The Brethren'.

While I agree on formula, it hasn't stopped him from being a bestselling author. It works, at the very least. The Rainmaker was one of the first. I'll lend you a copy. What language do you want?

A reflection on the masses, not his skill. The original, if you have it. I believe that will be English.
